We have a change to our football schedule. The October 10th game versus Tennessee School for the Deaf has been forfeited. There will be NO GAME on Saturday, October 10th.
The Mississippi School for the Deaf will be closed on Monday, September 7, 2015, and will conduct a staff development session on Tuesday, September 8, 2015.
Dorm students WILL NOT return to school on Sunday, September 6, 2015, but instead on Tuesday, September 8, 2015, at their regular “Sunday” pick up time. Day students WILL NOT come to school on September 8th, but instead will return on Wednesday, September 9, 2015.
While we will all enjoy time with family and friends during this holiday, we will be eager to see your child on September 9, 2015, as school resumes. Thanks for all you do in support of the education of your child.
Please see the flyers for the date/time for your Meet-n-Greet day. You do not want to miss this opportunity.

We had such an amazing night at Trustmark Park last night. It was MSD night and we shared our National Anthem in American Sign Language. The crowd went wild! We also had two students throw the first pitch. It was definitely a night to remember. Thank you to the Mississippi Braves for all of their support. A special thank you goes out to Mr. Marrieo Stovall for all of his help as we planned the event together. Such a beautiful experience for ALL.
MSD Senior, Miss Shanieka Coleman, received recognition from the Mississippi Department of Education this morning for her scholarly and athletic achievements. Seen in the pictures are several board members along with Dr. Carey Wright (State Superintendent of Education), Dr. Kim Benton ( Chief Academic Officer), Dr. Gann (using his hands to provide Shanieka with the Deaf Culture applause), and the board chair, Dr. Kelly. We could not be more proud! IT'S A GREAT DAY TO BE AN MSD BULLDOG!
